Connecting to a Database

To connect to any database you must have defined a UDL Connection for DBQwikEdit.

To connect:
1) Click the connect button

2) Double click the database that you wish to open from the list of available connections.

3) If you are accessing a secured database, you will need to provide a user ID and password that the database administrator should provide for you. Because of the features in some UDL connections, you may be presented with the login screen on databases that are not password protected. In this case leave the username and password blank and click OK.

A word on DBQwilEdit's Open Mode password protection. You can specify a password requirement to open databases in write mode. This feature is to allow you prevent accidental update of data by inexperienced or unathorized users. Read more...
